Rumors surrounding the future of Napoli Basket continue to swirl. According to Sportando, a leading candidate for the head coaching position is Bob Donewald Jr.

Donewald is reportedly the preferred choice of the club’s new majority owner, Matt Rizzetta. Born in 1968, Donewald had a brief stint in Europe with Lokomotiv Kuban at the end of the 2018–2019 season. Upon returning to the United States, he served as an assistant coach in the NCAA with Texas Tech, Texas, and, since 2023, with Ole Miss.

His career also includes extensive experience in the NBA and a notable tenure as head coach of the Chinese national team, with whom he won the Asian Games in 2010 and the FIBA Asia Championship in 2011. He was originally brought to China in 2009 by Yao Ming.

Meanwhile, Sportando also confirms reports from Gazzetta dello Sport that James Laughlin has reached an agreement to become the club’s new general manager.
