Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner talks with Pacers.com after the dominant win over the Charlotte Hornets, in which he contributed with a season-high 8 blocks:
“We needed to set the tone earlier and I wanted to make my presence felt,” said Turner, who had four of his blocks in the first quarter. “It’s something I’m capable of doing night-in and night-out. I wanted to make a concerted effort of doing that tonight.”
“I don’t think I’ll be able to catch Whiteside (top NBA shot-blocker with 3.1 x game), but that’s the goal I have every year,” Turner said. “I’m an elite defender and I have to play like it every night.”
The former Texas big man is averaging 11.6 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2 blocks, shooting 44% from the field, 34% from long range and 76% from the foul line
