The 2025 EuroLeague Final will be Fenerbahce vs. Monaco at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, as the Principality’s team delivered a commanding 78-68 win over Olympiacos. In what felt like poetic justice, Vassilis Spanoulis—now coaching Monaco—dismantled the very club that helped define his legendary playing career. He now prepares to face a former teammate, Fenerbahce’s Sarunas Jasikevicius, in the title game.
Olympiacos, the regular season’s top seed, once again fell victim to the EuroLeague’s “New Era” rule—number ones don’t win titles. Despite 31 points from Evan Fournier and 12 from Nigel Williams-Goss, the Reds never found their rhythm. Monaco countered with 22 points and 6 rebounds from Alpha Diallo, 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists from Mike James, and 12 points from Jaron Blossomgame.
After a 17-17 opening quarter, Monaco edged ahead 35-32 by halftime behind James’ playmaking and Diallo’s activity. In the third, they extended their lead beyond double digits before Fournier cut it to 51-57. But the fourth quarter belonged to Monaco, who surged again with Jaiteh and James combining to crush Olympiacos’ final hopes.
Diallo’s and-one at 2:35 for a 72-61 lead sealed it. A late steal and dunk only confirmed the inevitable: Monaco is marching to its first-ever EuroLeague final.
