Monaco was eliminated by Fenerbahce in the EuroLeague quarterfinals thanks to the incredible play of Nick Calathes in the final of Game 5. According to a report from BasketNews, Monaco has expressed strong interest in the Greek point guard, who is out of contract with his current club Fenerbahce. Calathes would be a prime target for Monaco, who have Okobo, Loyd and Kemba Walker out of contract and are not sure if they will stay in the principality next season.
Calathes looked set to leave Fenerbahce last summer, but Raul Neto’s injury changed the Turkish club’s plans. In the EuroLeague regular season, Calathes averaged 7.2 points, 4.9 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game.
