Monaco sanctioned by LNB: 20,000 euro fine and one league match lost

Monaco has been sanctioned by the LNB ahead of the 2024-2025 season, which is about to begin. In fact, the French club received a fine of 20,000 euros and a loss in the rankings for reasons related to the payment of salaries to players and the manner in which they were paid. In particular, according to AFP, the case under scrutiny is the renewal of Mike James: in fact, the club’s superstar contract provided for the payment of image rights to FedCom Media, which was not communicated to the league.

Possible, according to BeBasket, that Monaco will appeal after this sanction: for the same reason, Asvel Villeurbanne in 2023 saw its penalty reduced to one league loss instead of two.
