The Vikings, Wild, Timberwolves, Lynx, Twins and Minnesota United FC signed an open letter alongside dozens of local companies calling for state, local and federal officials to work together following rising tensions after two fatal shootings by federal agents.
The deaths of Alex Pretti and Renee Good came during a major immigration enforcement operation that sparked protests across Minnesota, with the letter urging peace, coordinated leadership and a “swift and durable solution” for families, workers and businesses.
The NBA postponed Saturday’s Warriors-Timberwolves game to Sunday amid the unrest, a mutual call by coaches Steve Kerr and Chris Finch; after Golden State’s 111-85 win, Kerr described it as “one of the most bizarre, sad” games he’s been part of, while Stephen Curry called for a more peaceful environment.
