Olimpia Milan coach Ettore Messina talks after the win over Maccabi tel Aviv:
“The game was built on the defense. We held a high-scoring Maccabi team to 68 points. I think my players played a wonderful defensive game. On offense, we usually share the ball. They were clever. They found good moments on offense. But I think the bottom line is after a tough weekend we had the energy to play without Zach [LeDay] and Jeff [Brooks] and play a good defensive game. Vlado [Micov] gave us some encouraging minutes after being out three weeks. So it’s an important win for sure, no doubt.”
The italian powerhouse is second in the Euroleague standings with 16 wins in 24 games.
