The Memphis Grizzlies signed guard Scotty Pippen Jr. to a standard NBA contract, the team announced Tuesday.
After a standout Summer League and preseason (averaging 10.3 points and 4.5 assists), Pippen becomes the Grizzlies’ backup point guard behind Ja Morant.
Pippen, the son of NBA Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen, joined Memphis on a two-way deal last January after a rookie season with the Lakers. With this signing, the Grizzlies have one open roster spot remaining.
