Umana Reyer Venezia is pleased to announce the signing of Maximilian Heidegger

Umana Reyer Venezia is pleased to announce the signing of Maximilian Heidegger, a 191-centimetre playmaker/guard from the Windy City Bulls, a G League team affiliated with the Chicago Bulls.

Heidegger was born in Los Angeles, California, on 5 June 1997 and holds three passports: American, Israeli and Austrian (his father Klaus Heidegger was a great skier).

He grew up basketball at three high schools: Crespi Carmelite (Encino, California), Blair Academy, (Blairstown, New Jersey) and Oaks Christian School, (Westlake Village, California). In college, from 2016 to 2020, he defended the colours of the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos, representing the University of California at Santa Barbara.

In 2020/21 he began his professional career by signing with Maccabi Tel Aviv, but playing on loan at Bnei Herzliya, also in the Israeli Premier League, with whom he recorded over 18 points per game. The following season he moved to Germany to EWE Baskets Oldenburg, finishing with 18.3 points, 2.2 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game.

In 2022/23 he plays the first part of the season in the Turkish Basketball Super League with Yukatel Merkezefendi (19.5 points, 2.9 rebounds and 6.3 assists) and in January 2023 he moves to Saski Baskonia with whom he debuts in the Euroleague and Liga Endesa (9 points and 3.6 assists in almost 19 minutes per game).

In September 2023, he signed a contract with the Chicago Bulls and then wore the Windy City Bulls jersey, with 13 points and 3.6 assists per game.
