Mavericks Hit Hard: Daniel Gafford Out with Right Knee Sprain

Dallas’ frontcourt decimated as Gafford joins Davis, Lively, and Powell on injury list

The Dallas Mavericks announced that center Daniel Gafford has suffered a right knee sprain and will be re-evaluated in two weeks. The injury occurred early in Monday’s overtime loss to the Kings, with Gafford logging just 10 minutes.

The Mavericks’ frontcourt is now severely depleted, with Anthony Davis (adductor strain), Dereck Lively II (foot stress fracture), and Dwight Powell (hip injury) already sidelined.

Olivier-Maxence Prosper filled in at center after Gafford’s exit, logging 34 minutes. P.J. Washington, recovering from an ankle issue, may also slide into a small-ball center role upon his return
