Game 4 between the Indiana Pacers and Cleveland Cavaliers turned heated early, as Bennedict Mathurin was ejected for a flagrant 2 foul after striking De’Andre Hunter in the midsection. The altercation occurred just one minute into the game.
Hunter responded by pushing Mathurin, which led Myles Turner to intervene. After review, referees handed technicals to Hunter and Turner, while Mathurin’s punch led to his dismissal. “It’s a learning experience,” coach Rick Carlisle said postgame.
This follows an earlier incident in Game 1 when Mathurin’s block injured Hunter’s thumb. Despite the drama, the Pacers took control early and secured a 129-109 win, leading the series 3-1.
Is this the softest ejection (Mathurin tossed) ever? Call came directly from the @NBA via review. League is #SOFT #Pacers #Cavs pic.twitter.com/UdJPZkLHc1

Mathurin getting ejected for a light tap to the chest when we’ve seen draymond green playing football the entire playoffs and no ejection lmao pic.twitter.com/bZcGwcJoC5

I’m not mad about Mathurin being ejected. Stupid jab.
But how is this not ejection worthy?
Techs/Flagrants just entirely based on player merit at this point?
Hunter = Good guy so no ejection?
