Massimo Zanetti, president of Virtus Bologna, spoke to Discovery’s microphones after winning the Italian championship in Game 3 in Brescia in the LBA Finals 2025.
ON THE FUTURE
“We have already set the future and defined some signings, but for obvious reasons we couldn’t announce them yet: there were teams still in the field, including ours. Next year we will build a younger team. We know that Toko Shengelia will leave, and Marco Belinelli will leave basketball, so the goal will be to rejuvenate the group’.
ON SHENGELIA
“An incredible satisfaction. I love Shengelia. A little while ago I told him and his wife that when I go to Barcelona, I will go to see them. He replied that he will wait for us there. It was a life choice: he is going to be 36 years old, he received an offer he couldn’t refuse and decided to return to Spain, where he has his residence. But in these last few games he has really given his heart. I have never seen him play so well. And I must say that even though he had already signed his contract elsewhere, he showed enormous professionalism right up to the last minute. It was commendable, truly extraordinary.
