March Madness is hotting up as we enter the Sweet 16 round. So far 52 teams have been eliminated with shock upsets including Illinois’ early exit and underdog stories involving Loyola Chicago and Oral Roberts progression to this stage. 

Loyola Chicago enter the later stages of the tournament for the first time since 2018 when they reached the Final Four round. Fellow dark horses Oral Roberts defeated strong outfits from Ohio State and 7th seed Florida on their way into the Sweet 16. Roberts marginally took the victory in both fixtures with a combined winning margin of just 6 points.  

Key match ups this round feature Villanova vs Baylor and Creighton who seek to break Gonzaga’s incredible 28 game winning run. The Zags have defeated Norfolk State and Oklahoma so far, adding to their impressive 20/21 campaign with many touting them as favourites for the championship.
