Unicaja Malaga has successfully defended its Basketball Champions League title, defeating Galatasaray 83–67 in the final to claim its second consecutive trophy and the sixth BCL crown for Spain in just nine editions.
Coach Navarro’s team took an early lead and never looked back, controlling the pace against the Turkish side and pulling away in the fourth quarter. With disciplined ball-handling and a solid 51% shooting from two-point range (compared to Galatasaray’s 37%), Unicaja sealed the largest winning margin ever seen in a BCL final, played at the SUNEL Arena in Athens.
Tyson Carter, who helped lift Unicaja past hosts AEK in the semifinals, was named Final Four MVP. AEK secured the bronze medal with a 77–73 win over Tenerife.
