The future of Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague is uncertain due to the ongoing conflict between Hamas and Israel.
According to Eurohoops sources, a meeting among the competition’s shareholders is scheduled tomorrow to discuss the Israeli team’s future, including its home court. While the president of the Cyprus Basketball Association, Andreas Mouzouridis, had previously announced that the team could play EuroLeague games in Cyprus behind closed doors, nothing has been decided yet.
The city of Belgrade appears as the most desirable option for Maccabi Tel Aviv, currently 7th in the European rankings.
❗️EuroLeague shareholders are meeting tomorrow in Istanbul. A lot of issues open, including the expansion talks, but the Israel situation and Maccabi’s future is the main issue now
