The Los Angeles Lakers have announced plans to commission a statue honoring Pat Riley, to be placed at Star Plaza outside Crypto.com Arena. Riley won six NBA titles with the Lakers: four as head coach, one as assistant coach, and one as a player.
He will be the eighth legend honored at the Plaza, joining icons like Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Jeanie Buss called Riley “a Lakers icon,” praising his contributions to the Showtime era. The statue is set for completion in 2026, with an unveiling date to be announced.
