London Lions keep Kareem Queeley

British and Eurocup side confirm UK national team player and former Real Madrid guard for the upcoming season

London Lions kept another backcourt piece from the last season by re-signing young forward Kareem Queeley, the club announced Monday. Queeley (1.93 meters, 22 years old) appeared in six games of his debut BKT EuroCup season, and in just under 10 minus per game collected totals of 4 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. In the British League action, he helped London win the crown with 3.1 points, 1.2 assists and 1.2 rebounds.

Before arriving to London last summer, Queeley spent three seasons with the Spanish side San Pablo Burgos. In the first two of those three he helped the team win back-to-back FIBA Basketball Champions League crowns. He also spent time with CB Burgos in Spanish fourth division, where he averaged 17.7 points, 8.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists during the 2020-21 campaign.

Queeley grew up with Real Madrid, and played for its youth categories where in a role of a starter he helped U18 Real Madrid win the Euroleague Basketball Adidas Next Generation Tournament crown in 2019. Queeley has also been a member of Great Britain’s national team.
