Before the Christmas game against the Los Angeles Lakers, the Dallas Mavericks unveiled a statue dedicated to Dirk Nowitzki outside the American Airlines Center.
LeBron James had some important words to honor the German superstar’s career.
“The statue had to be a fadeaway, one-legger. Dirk is a legend. He’s an icon. I think he’s the greatest international player ever. I put him right there with Manu (Ginobili)… That boy was cold man. Dirk was cold. He revolutionized what a stretch 4 big could look like…You couldn’t put a small player on him because he was too big, couldn’t put a slow big because he was too quick with his first step early on, and you can never block his shot…When you talk about the best power forwards of all time, Dirk is right there with Charles Barkley, Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, Kevin McHale..”
