Lauri Markkanen will continue to defend the colors of the Utah Jazz at least through next season, according to a report from The Athletic.
In fact, the Finnish forward has agreed with the team on a rich contract extension, but it will not be announced by today, the last day to allow for a possible trade to another team before the trade deadline.
Markkanen’s new contract, set to start from 2024-25 thanks to the ‘renegotiation-and-extend’ formula and the Jazz’s cap space, will exceed 200 million total over five seasons.
Markkanen in two seasons with the Jazz has produced 24.5 points, 8.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game, shooting 49 percent from the field, 40 percent from three-point range and 88 percent from the foul line.
