During the post-game press conference, LeBron James revealed that he tore a tendon in his right foot, an injury that typically requires more than four weeks of recovery time. Initially, he was given two options, season-ending surgery or non-surgical recovery. After consulting with an expert, James chose the latter.
The Lakers had been vague about the nature of James’ injury and recovery process. After being listed as “doubtful” for Sunday’s game, James decided to play. He stated that he had been doing three training sessions per day to return to the court as soon as possible and did not have a specific date in mind. James has already missed 27 games this season due to the injury.
He now feels “day to day,” and the pain threshold on Monday morning will be the most important factor in his continued recovery.
