Kyrie Irving, Mavericks Still On Track for New Deal Despite Doncic Trade

Dallas plans to build around Irving and Anthony Davis moving forward

Despite Luka Doncic’s recent departure, the Dallas Mavericks and Kyrie Irving remain on course to finalize a new contract this offseason. While Irving has yet to publicly address the trade, negotiations with Dallas are progressing smoothly.

Irving has multiple options: he could opt into the final year of his deal and sign a four-year, $266.7 million extension, or opt out and secure a new five-year contract worth up to $313.9 million. With the addition of Anthony Davis, the Mavericks are committed to structuring their future around Irving and Davis.
