Klay Thompson has left the door open to uncertainty about his future with the Dallas Mavericks. Asked whether he expects to be in Dallas next season, the former Warriors star did not give a definitive answer: “That’s a hard hitter. I’m not sure.”
Thompson did point out that he remains under contract, but he also stressed that his time in Dallas has shown him how quickly situations can change. “I’m under contract so I do, but I’ve definitely learned in my time in Dallas that things can change on a dime,” he said.
Those comments are likely to fuel more speculation around the Mavericks’ future plans and Thompson’s place in them. It was a short answer, but one that could become part of a much bigger offseason storyline in the NBA.
