Kevin Punter: “I want to stay at Barcelona for a few years”

Barcelona's guard Kevin Punter reassures his fans and says he wants to stay for a few more years.

Kevin Punter has given an interview to Barcelona’s official channels, discussing his adaptation to life in the Catalan city and his future. Here are his words.

Punter on his future: “Everything is going great and I would like to stay here for a few more years. I’ve been thinking about it and asking myself some questions. So yes, I would definitely like to, 100 per cent. I like Barcelona and the climate, it’s always cold in New York”.

On the now shelved NBA dream: “Up until my seventh season in Europe, I always thought about going to the NBA in the summer. I still hadn’t come to terms with it. But when you understand how the business and the basketball world works, you realise that going to the NBA is not just about basketball. Now, in my ninth season, understanding that gives me peace of mind. I started with Lavrio in Greece and now I am playing with Barça. It shows that all the work I have done, all the effort I have put in summer after summer, season after season, has not gone unnoticed. I always try to improve. I am not a complacent player. I am at a stage in my career where I am more relaxed. I can focus on my goals and how I can improve every day. I’m letting certain things go now that I didn’t let go before”.
