Last night Kemba Walker returned to the New York Knicks rotation, and responded by scoring 29 points with 6 rebounds and 3 assists against his former team, the Boston Celtics.
After the game the point guard talked about his situation:
“I want to play. I don’t know what the future holds, but I do feel like I have a lot to give still”.
“I’ve just not played for what? Seven, eight, nine games? I don’t know,” he said. “Like I said, I’m a team-first (player), so whatever’s asked of me, I’m never going to argue anything. Just play my part. I get what the team needs me to give. Whether that’s me not playing, being the first one up cheering, to me coming off the bench or me starting, it is what it is.”
“I hate it. I want to play.”
Kemba Walker has accepted his new role gracefully, but that doesn’t mean any of the last three weeks have been familiar for him.
