Jordan Loyd returns to AS Monaco

AS Monaco announced with a statement that they brought back Jordan Loyd with a two-year contract from Maccabi Tel Aviv.

AS Monaco is pleased to announce the signing of Jordan Loyd (1.93 m, 31 years old) from Maccabi Tel Aviv for two seasons. This is a homecoming for the player who has left countless memories here in Monaco over the past two seasons. MVP of the 2023 finals, he led the French team to its first French league title. A moment of history, etched forever. The previous season was not an easy one for the player who was a crowd favorite, due to a back injury that prevented him from fulfilling his full potential.

Jordan Loyd is pure professionalism, a player everyone loves to work with, who loves to be in communion with the public. Moreover, the American seems to have regained full possession of his abilities. This is evidenced by his start of the season in the Euroleague in his hometown colors (15.5 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists). With the likes of Mike James, Elie Okobo, Nick Calathes and an impressive Matthew Strazel, he will undoubtedly form one of the best back lines in Europe’s top competition.

The Atlanta, Georgia, native played in the NBA in the 2018-2019 season, participating in 11 games for the Toronto Raptors. Just as a reminder, he is also an NBA champion.

He later spent a year with Valencia before moving to Red Star Belgrade under Sasa Obradovic, with whom he developed a very special relationship. Renowned for his scoring ability, Jordan Loyd then joined Zenit, with whom he offered impressive performances in the Euroleague (13.2 points, 4 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 14.4 rating).Before arriving in Monaco in 2022 to accomplish all he has set his sights on so far.

I have received many messages and I am very happy about that.My goal now is to be as much a part of the team as possible, doing what I know how to do to take the team as far as possible and win the Euroleague title.”
