Jokic triple-double not enough as Nuggets fall hard in Game 3

Nikola Jokic recorded his 20th career playoff triple-double — 23 points, 13 rebounds, 13 assists — but it wasn’t enough to prevent a disastrous loss for Denver in Game 3. The Nuggets were blown out by the Clippers, who took control early and never looked back, taking a 2-1 lead in the series.

Jokic was his usual brilliant self on the stat sheet, orchestrating the offense and battling inside. However, with Denver shooting just 7-of-26 from three and committing 16 turnovers, his efforts were largely wasted. Only Jamal Murray joined him in double figures, while the rest of the team failed to make an impact.

Despite Jokic’s consistent excellence, the Nuggets looked overwhelmed, especially on defense. As Game 4 approaches Sunday night in Inglewood, the defending champions now face a must-win situation to avoid falling into a deep hole.
