Serbia have announced an initial squad of 22 as the FIBA EuroBasket 2022 title contenders look ahead to the major tournament that starts in September.
Svetislav Pesic has been able to call upon Nikola Jokic after the two-time reigning NBA MVP confirmed his availability earlier this summer, while Vasilije Micic is also included having enhanced his reputation as one of the leading guards in Europe in recent seasons.
2021-22 NBA champion Nemanja Bjelica returned to national team action during the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 European Qualifiers and is in the training camp roster alongside Aleksej Pokusevski, who awaits a debut with the senior team.
Veteran guard Milos Teodosic is also included and there is a place as well for 19-year-old prospect Nikola Jovic, who was selected by Miami Heat in the first round of last month’s NBA Draft.
