During the Atlanta Hawks’ 2019-20 exit interview, John Collins said that he believes that he and Trae Young are the best young duo in the NBA.
The big man added that he hopes to extend his contract this summer.
Before the suspension the former Wake Forest was one of the five NBA players with more than 20 points and 10 rebounds per game.
He averaged 21.6 points, 10.1 rebounds and 1.6 blocks, shooting a big-time 64% from two points, 40.1% from 3-point range and 80% from the foul line.
Young was fourth top scorer of the league with 29.6 points per game, and the second for assist behind Lebron James with 9.3.
Collins is being (very) clear that he wants an extension done this summer.
"Sooner rather than later" when asked about the potential of doing a deal now when compared to when he hits free agency.
