Sixers center Joel Embiid will return on the court Tuesday against the Knicks, according to ESPN insider Shams Charania. Embiid, who has been out all year due to a knee injury, will serve the three-game suspension handed to him after shoving a reporter and will make his season debut once the suspension ends.
“Joel Embiid is ready,” Charania told Malika Andrews in ‘NBA Today.’ “Sources tell me he will make his season debut next Tuesday at home against the Knicks in the Sixers’ NBA cup opener. He will serve his three-day suspension tonight against the Clippers, Friday against the Lakers, Sunday at home against the Hornets, and then Joel Embiid can finally let the court do the talking.”
“We know how good he is when he’s on the court, he’s a former league MVP,” Charania continued. “Nick Nurse, head coach of the Sixers, said it the other day: they need him to refocus on this season on the court and play basketball.”
