Joe ‘Jellybean’ Bryant, Kobe’s father, passed away at the age of 69 after suffering a heart attack.
During his career as a player, Bryant defended the colors of Rieti, Reggio Emilia, Reggio Calabria, and Pistoia, even taking the little Kobe all over Italy.
It has been four and a half years since Jan. 26, 2020, the day his son Kobe and granddaughter Gigi died along with seven other people in a helicopter crash.
Joe and Kobe were inseparable in the very early part of the ‘Mamba’s’ career as stars at Lower Merion High School.
But after joining the Los Angeles Lakers, and beginning what would become a memorable NBA career, their relationship soured as Kobe demanded more freedom and independence from his family.
Joe made no public comment on his son’s death.
