Joan Peñarroya on Jokubaitis: I wanted him to stay at Barcelona

Rokas Jokubaitis made his debut last night for Maccabi Tel Aviv in the EuroLeague, finishing the game with 4 points and 2 assists in 15 minutes. Meanwhile, his former team, Barcelona, suffered a defeat in their opening game against Zalgiris Kaunas. After the game, Barcelona’s coach Joan Peñarroya commented on Jokubaitis’ move to Maccabi.

“I wanted him to stay at Barcelona, but the management decided otherwise. He’s an excellent player, but he’s no longer our responsibility.”
