Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler missed Monday’s 108-89 loss to the Boston Celtics after sustaining a right knee injury late in Sunday’s game against the Toronto Raptors.
Heat coach Erik Spoelstra announced that Butler is considered “day-to-day” and was sidelined due to knee soreness. “We’ll see what happens when we get back to Miami,” said Spoelstra. The Heat will face the Los Angeles Lakers at home on Wednesday.
This marks Butler’s second absence this season, following four missed games in November due to a right ankle sprain. The 35-year-old is averaging 18.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 4.8 assists while shooting 53.8% from the field.
