Jaylen Brown started the contest shooting 1-for-7. After pulling off the black gear at 9:02 of the second quarter, he led the Boston Celtics to a 3-1 series lead with 31 points on 12-of-22 shooting.
Brown told MassLive’s Souichi Terada, “Maybe it was all in my head” after their 129-121 loss. “I needed a new appearance. I wanted something different to start the game since I didn’t like my appearance. After taking it off, everything improved.”
“I don’t know,” Brown responded. “I needed to change my shoes, wipe my hands, and remove the mask. I simply wanted to assist my team win. That was my goal.”
