Ivanovic will make his debut on the Virtus Bologna bench against his former team Baskonia: "Tomorrow's will be a special game, but we will go there to fight and the players are ready”

The official presentation of Dusko Ivanovic as the new head coach of Segafredo Virtus Bologna is currently underway.

His statements, via PianetaBasket:

“I am very happy to be here—great team, great players, beautiful city.I believe in this team, and that’s why I accepted the assignment.”. I know there are players with the right character to be winners. Can we still make the playoffs? I believe these guys can do better than they have so far. Tomorrow’s game will be a special one, but we are going there to fight, and the players are ready.

In Milan, I think the team did great things, especially on defense and in terms of patience. The goal is to continue being a team, playing all together and believing.. I think on many occasions, a bit of luck has been missing—several close losses in the EuroLeague—and becoming more of a team is the only way to change the mindset and avoid the risk of falling into a negative mood.

Shengelia and Polonara? I won my last championship with them in Baskonia (in 2019–20). They haven’t changed; they still have that great character. The main thing is that everyone here has to fight”.
