The Italians are ready. Italy has set its sights on the Olympic Qualifying Tournament that will be held in Puerto Rico on July 2-7, as the Azzurri will try to repeat their successful 2021 Serbian campaign. NT head coach Gianmarco Pozzecco has decided that Reyer Venezia guard Davide Casarin is the last player to be released from the roster, therefore confirming the 12 players that will play in San Juan.

This is the final roster: Marco Spissu (Venezia in 2023/24, now in Zaragoza), Niccolò Mannion (Varese), Awudu Abass (Virtus Bologna), Danilo Gallinari (Milwaukee Bucks), Nicolò Melli (Milano in 2023/24, now a free agent), Giampaolo Ricci (Milano), Giordano Bortolani (Milano), Giampaolo Caruso (Milano), Achille Polonara (Virtus Bologna), Alessandro Pajola (Virtus Bologna) and John Petrucelli (Brescia). Italy will play Spain in Madrid on Tuesday in a friendly, while Bahrain and Puerto Rico will be the Azzurri’s opponents in the OQT.
