After some stuttering in the first half, Italy played a wonderful second half and easily overpowered Hungary. First the productive start of Achille Polonara, in his first as Azzurro captain, then Petrucelli and Tessitori to sign the change of pace in the third quarter, assisted by Procida and Pajola.
Hungary actually stayed in the game for 20 minutes. In the third quarter, the Azzurri put up a 7-0 run and an 11-0 run, going from -2 rapidly to +32, 42-9 the partial in 15′. Italy thus closed the February window with two victories in two games, taking the lead in Group B.
62-83 the final, for the Azzurri 12 of Giordano Bortolani and Amedeo Tessitori (7 rebounds), 10 for Achille Polonara. Now the next appointment will be related to the Pre-Olympic, for the Eurobasket 2025 qualifiers we will talk again in November.
