First steps in the NBA for first overall pick in last draft Zaccharie Risacher, who scored 18 points and 2 assists with 7/9 from the field in his preseason debut in the Atlanta Hawks’ win over the Indiana Pacers.
“I was very excited,” the French forward said after the game. “As with the first day of training camp and all the other things, I think it’s the beginning of something big. I just want to be helpful to my teammates, so I’m glad it went well.”
Hawks coach Quin Snyder, tries not to put too many expectations on his player.
“I think he made some plays, he really seemed to enjoy himself on the court….When you’re the first pick, people analyze everything you do, both positive and negative. That’s why I’m happy he was successful, but I know he will have some more good games and some more bad games. It’s been a pleasure to see him having fun together with his teammates.”
