A sensational rumor published this morning by José Luis Martinez on Marca. On the day of Real Madrid-Panathinaikos for round 27 of the EuroLeague, a ‘trade’ in the summer is possible. Mario Hezonja and Juancho Hernangomez are involved.
The “Hezonja affair” is well known. The Croatian forward turned down two renewal offers from Madrid. Reason? Salary and place in Chus Mateo’s rotation. Panathinaikos, Hezonja’s former team, would be ready to put up a two-year €2 million per season offer.
So Real Madrid is looking for replacements, and if the first idea remains Usman Garuba, there is also the option of Juancho Hernangomez, who still has a year left on his contract but whom Panathinaikos could let go in case of demand. Obstacle to the negotiation? The Spaniard’s rich salary in Greece.
