Academics Heidelberg hires Ingo Freyer as new coach. The team is currently last in the BBL with two wins and is fresh from the heavy 76-113 defeat against Vechta.
Freyer, who signed a contract until the end of the season, takes over from Joonas Iisalo, who is from Flanders but a native of Berlin.
Ingo Freyer, born in 1971, led Weissenfels last season, but is the man who previously led Phoenix Hagen to the BBL and then led the Giessen 46ers from 2017 to December 2020.
