Veolia Hamburg Towers added a scoring threat to their perimeter, signing guard James Woodard on a one-year deal, the club announced Thursday.(via EuroCup) Woodard (1.91 meters, 28 years old) arrives from a fellow German side Ludwigsburg where he averaged 9.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists in the German League action, while helping the team reach the Basketball Champions League Final Four posting 6.1 points and 2.6 rebounds.
Woodard now reunites with Hamburg’s head coach Raoul Korner, after the two worked together at another German side, Bayreuth, where Woodard led the team in scoring with 13.0 points per game. During his professional career, Hamburg’s new scoring guard also played with Rouen in France, Nevezis in Lithuania, MZT Skopje in North Macedonia, Cantu in Italy and Peristeri in Greece. Woodard is now set to make his 7DAYS EuroCup debut.
