Scoreless in the first half, McCollum came alive after halftime, sparked by messages from his wife and brother CJ McCollum telling him to “be aggressive.” The result: seven straight points and a clutch three late in the fourth.
“I saw we were struggling offensively, so I knew it was my time,” said McCollum after the 82-76 semifinal win. “Once I hit one or two, I just kept attacking. I’m thankful the coaches trusted me in those moments.”
Now 37, McCollum joined Fenerbahce mid-season from Karsiyaka and quickly became a key piece. “Stay ready. Dominate every chance you get,” he said, sending a message to other veterans—and to Fener fans: “Let’s bring this title home.”
