Valencia Basket has reached an agreement to sign Croatian international point guard Goran Filipovic (1.80m, Split, 11/26/1996, 27 years old) with a temporary two-month contract due to the physical problems that our men’s first team has accumulated in the playmaker position.
The player, who was a free agent, is a fast playmaker who will bring rhythm, defensive activity, and a three-point shooting threat. In recent seasons, he has established himself as a regular member of the Croatian national team. Notably, in the summer of 2024, he was included in the final roster for the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Athens, where he made a significant contribution against Slovenia with 21 points on 6/7 shooting from three-point range and 28 PIR.
Filipovic is familiar with Spanish basketball after spending the 2022-23 season with Leyma Coruña in LEB Oro, but his definitive consolidation came last season.
After excelling in the Polish league with Arriva Polski Cukier Torun (15.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 5.6 assists for 16.7 PIR), he finished the 2023-24 season with Igokea in Bosnia. In the Adriatic League, he averaged 14.6 points with 51.5% shooting from three-point range, 2.1 rebounds, and 3.4 assists for 12.6 PIR, closing the competition with 28 points against Partizan on 6/9 shooting from three.
