Giannis Antetokounmpo is considered in doubt for the Milwaukee Bucks’ return to the court as they host the Utah Jazz tonight at Fiserv Forum.
Due to a strained right adductor, “the greek freak” was held out of the game against the Cleveland Cavaliers at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on Monday. He held the shooting session but did not receive medical clearance for the game. After taking part in the team’s practice on Wednesday, a similar situation now arises ahead of the next regular season fixture.
Before being sidelined, Antetokounmpo recorded 30.4 points, 11.6 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 0.6 blocks and 0.4 steals per contest in six appearances. He recorded a double-double in all six games.
Without Giannis in the quintet, the Doc Rivers-coached team was forced to drop to a 1-6 record after the loss to the Cavs. With eight of the upcoming games at home, including one against the Jazz, the favorable schedule offers an opportunity to improve the win-loss record.
In addition to questioning the two-time MVP of the 2019 and 2020 seasons and Finals MVP in 2021, the Bucks confirmed that Khris Middleton (bilateral ankle surgery) will sit out another game. The 33-year-old guard has yet to play this season.
