Giannakopoulos slams Panathinaikos after loss: “We failed, but we’ll come back stronger”

Panathinaikos president Dimitris Giannakopoulos didn’t hold back after the Final Four loss: “Everyone underperformed, we will bounce back”

After the semifinal defeat against Fenerbahce, Giannakopoulos made it clear: there’s no room for moral victories at Panathinaikos. “We don’t celebrate Final Four appearances. We failed this year,” he said bluntly from Abu Dhabi.

The owner stressed that no one met expectations, including himself. “We are Panathinaikos—we don’t hide from our fans or sugarcoat failure,” he added, calling for a tougher mentality moving forward.

Despite the disappointment, Giannakopoulos praised Fenerbahce and promised that his team will return stronger. The message was firm: this isn’t over for Panathinaikos.
