Gianmarco Pozzecco: American point guard have something less because they play differently

Italbasket head coach Gianmarco Pozzecco compared Vasa Micic and Shabazz Napier for La Gazzetta dello Sport on the day of Efes-Olimpia Milano match.

He said, “Shabazz Napier has talent, he is intelligent and has personality. Qualities necessary to lead a high-level team. The main difference with Micic is that he is American, in the sense that he has a different playing style. I am convinced that the big teams in Euroleague have all had a European playmaker: Papaloukas, Diamantidis, Spanoulis, Chacho Rodriguez. With all due respect, Americans have something less because they play differently, it’s physiological. Without the ball, for example, they are more disinterested in the game.”
