Generazione Vincente Napoli Basket announces the signing of Tomislav Zubčić for a one-year deal. The Croatian forward (213cm) was born in Zadar on January 17, 1990.
His sports career started with Cibona Zagreb, where he played from 2008 to 2013, winning three National titles and one Croatian Cup. In 2012, Zubčić was selected by the Toronto Raptors in the NBA Draft as the 56th overall pick. The following year, he moved to Lithuania to play with Rytas Vilnius. Soon after, he returned home to Cedevita where, in the 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons, he won two more national championships, and two Croatian Cups. In 2015/16, Zubčić played in the USA with the Oklahoma City Blue in the NBA D-League with excellent results. He then returned to Europe to play in Russia with Avtodor Saratov, Novgorod Russia, and in Turkey with Trabzonspor.
In the 2017/18 season, he played in Germany with Telekom Basket Bonn, averaging 14.1 points per game. In the next season, he played in the Bosnian league with Igokea (19.0 points), and in the second part, he played in Spain with Manresa (10.4 points). He returned to Russia in the 2019/20 season with Enisey Krasnojarsk, finishing the championship with an average of 15.5 points per game before moving to Turkey with Tofas Bursa for the next two seasons, averaging 13.5 and 12.8 points per game. In the Champions League over two years with Bursa, he averaged 16.0 and 11.9 points per game. Last season he played in England with the London Lions, averaging 12.0 points in the championship, and 13.4 points in the EuroCup.
Zubčić has played in all youth categories for the Croatian National Team U16, U18, U19, and U20, and won bronze with Croatia U18 at the European Championship, and with U19 at the World Championship in 2009. He has been playing for the Croatian National Team since 2017.
