Asvel will return to the court today, at 8pm, for an ‘Italian derby’ with Zalgiris Kaunas, as Gianmarco Pozzecco on one side and Andrea Trinchieri on the other will face each other on the bench.
But, as is well known, the future of Italbasket’s coach already seems to be sealed, with the French club determined to close the multi-year agreement signed only a few weeks ago well in advance.
Will it happen after tonight’s match? There are no certainties, but there are many rumours about Asvel’s future.
Vincent Collet, coach of France, seemed the natural favourite, also because in the summer his partnership with the transalpine federation should end in favour of Kenny Atkinson.
But according to Le Progres, the hot name for Asvel’s bench next season would be Frederic Fauthoux, for two seasons assistant on the black and white bench and now the successful guide of JL Bourg.
