Rai long-time journalist and former Italy NT commentator Franco Lauro has died this afternoon in Rome, as reported by Il Messaggero. Lauro, 58 years old and sport broadcasting veteran, has probably suffered a sudden stroke and has been found dead in his house.
In his career Lauro has covered 8 editions of the Olympic Games and 6 FIFA World Cup and was also Italbasket commentator for several international tournaments, most notably the 2004 Olympic tournament in Athens when Italy won Silver medal.
