FB Barcelona: The player Dame Sarr has informed the Club that he will participate in the Nike Hoops Summit without authorization.

Official Club Statement

FC Barcelona announces that, despite not having received authorization from the Club, the player Dame Sarr, 18, has made the personal decision to participate in the Nike Hoops Summit, which will take place in Portland (USA) from April 6 to 12. The player did not attend Saturday’s training session at the Palau Blaugrana.

The Club wishes to clarify the following points:

• In November, the player requested permission from the Club to be absent in order to take part in this exhibition event. At that time, the Club was open to considering the request.

• However, the request was ultimately denied, and this decision was clearly communicated to both the player and his representatives over the past two weeks, considering the increasingly important role Dame Sarr plays within the team.

• Despite the Club’s explicit denial, the player has unilaterally chosen to ignore the decision and, on Friday evening, informed the Club of his intention to travel independently to participate in the event.

• This conduct constitutes a direct breach of the player’s contractual obligations to FC Barcelona.

• The Club, which has made significant investments in the training and athletic development of the player—currently residing at La Masia—reserves the right to defend its interests through the appropriate channels.
