Facundo Campazzo: Now, my mind is set on clinching another title alongside my teammates

Facundo Campazzo, who made his 250th Real Madrid on Saturday, spoke at an online press conference to assess the third Final Phase clash against Valencia Basket (Monday, 6:30pm CEST): “I think Valencia Basket would draw real strength from their fans. Now the court will be empty, the game will be more evenly matched. We have to be ready to take on a Valencia team that will do everything they can to beat us. But we’ll do our best to make them uncomfortable and impose our game on them; that will be the key to the match”.

“To beat a team like Valencia, a number of things have to happen. We have to be focused in defense, and when you’re solid at the back, you attack better too. They know us well, and vice-versa, but it will be hugely important to maintain our concentration levels”.

Growing into the competition
“We get one day’s rest after each game, with a deep squad, and that helps us stay fresh. We’re fine in terms of our energy levels and we go into these tournaments, right to the end in the best possible shape. We’re used to these kinds of formats: European Championships, World Cups…”.

Burgos clash
“We made a lot of mistakes. Lots of shots under pressure, poor defensive plays, and we allowed them to dominate the rebound. From the first minute until the last, we lacked focus and we were trying to force shots under pressure to turn the game. A team like Burgos punishes you for that”.

“We have to improve our intensity and our attitude. We know the things we have to do to win trophies. We want to do things right and we’ll look at every match like it’s a final”.
